Have you just moved into your new dream home? Congratulations! This was a big step to make, especially with all the struggles that come with this complex, stressful, and tiresome process called relocation. But, hold your horses! It is not a time for celebration and relaxation just yet. First, you need to clean.

We agree, cleaning may be the worst part of relocating to a new home, but still, it is something that has to be done before you unpack. So, how does one prepare for a post-move cleanup? Well, by gathering all the necessary cleaning products and tools first. We are here to help you with that. Thus, if you want to know which products you need for making your post-move cleanup a breeze, keep on reading.

All-Purpose Cleaner

An all-purpose cleaner is the most essential thing you should have in your cleaning kit. As the name 'all-purpose' suggests, it is one universal thing that can be used for cleaning all surfaces in your home – wood, glass, plastic, electronics, etc. The best part, though, is that an all-purpose cleaner is extremely cheap, comes in many scents, and can be bought pretty much anywhere. You can also get it in the form of a spray or as a diluted concentrated solution.

Moreover, if you are all about going green and using only organic products, you can also make a natural, all-purpose cleaner by yourself! Mix some warm water with freshly squeezed lemon juice, or white wine vinegar and rubbing alcohol, and voila! These simple cleaning solutions will help you prevent the mess in your new home after location!

An all-purpose cleaner is a great thing to have on hand when cleaning.

Disinfectant

When you move to a new home, it is absolutely necessary for you to clean everything with a disinfectant. After all, you do not know who the previous owners were nor what they were doing there. So, before you unload your moving truck, get some microfiber cloths, soak them in a disinfectant, and wipe everything. Pay special attention to bathrooms as those are the areas where bacteria and germs thrive the most.

After you have cleaned everything and settled in, do not hesitate to use disinfectants on an everyday basis. For instance, wipe down the kitchen counters with them before you start preparing the meal and you will be sure that you are working with a sparkling clean surface.

Washing Liquid and Sponge

Another absolute must in every household is a washing liquid. You’ll mostly need it for washing the dishes but this type of cleaner is universal as well! You can use it for cleaning the sink, the shower, the countertops, and any other dirty or greasy areas in your home during the post-move cleanup.

The best part about the washing liquid is that it is mild. You can use it for washing your child's toys or even our pet furniture covers without worrying about their health

Just put some washing liquid on a sponge and clean away.

Feather Duster and Vacuum Cleaner

Feather dusters and vacuum cleaners are essential tools for cleaning. They are truly two products that will make your post-move cleanup a breeze. Of course, you already know how to use them, but let us give you some advice.

When you find those moving options that meet everyone's needs and you successfully move out and come to your new address, do not start unloading the moving truck and unpacking the boxes just yet. Cleaning with furniture and boxes laying around is an impossible mission. Start by cleaning the higher surfaces and then move onto the lower ones. That is, use the feather duster to remove the dust from ceilings, hanging kitchen counters and shelves, and then vacuum the fallout. This way, you get to unpack into a clean home.

Cloths and Gloves

Besides sponges, we recommend stocking up on generic cleaning cloths, microfiber cloths, and of course – gloves before and after you move. As these are all versatile, you never know when they will come in handy. They are used alongside all those cleaning products we mentioned before like multi-purpose cleaners, disinfectants, and many others.

Fabric cloths are great because they can be used many times. They are not for single-use like those specialized cleaning wipes. Use the generic cloths in combination with gloves for cleaning the bathroom, the kitchen, and pretty much all other parts of the house. But, use microfiber cloths for cleaning electronics as they are finer and gentler than regular cloths.

Do not forget to clean them after every use! Just put them in a washing machine on a higher temperature and you will not have to worry about germs and dirt sticking onto them.

Save your hands from chemicals – use gloves when cleaning!

Organizers

Okay, technically organizers are not cleaning products, but they are still tools that can help make your post-move cleanup a breeze. They are must-have organizing products that help us store all the cleaning products and tools mentioned above.

Organizers come in all shapes, colors, and sizes. For example, you can use Love2Organize for storing all baby, pet, craft, wrapping, and cleaning supplies. You can also get various different organizers for the inside of your closets, wardrobes, shelves, drawers, and even for the kitchen and bathroom cabinets. They are invented not only to make our lives easier but also cleaner and more organized.
